Moving from interest to application becomes easier when you see it in practice first
Precision agriculture sounds logical, but the real question is whether it fits your operation and whether it is reliable enough to build on. During the Summer Field Day Precision Agriculture on 22 May at VDBorne Campus, you will see applications in a summer context and have the opportunity to ask targeted questions about how things work, what conditions are required and how they can be applied in practice. You will leave with a clearer understanding of what you can already do today, what you should test first and which next step makes the most sense for your situation.
Programme Summer Field Day Precision Agriculture
The field day focuses on summer decisions in crop production and farm management, with attention to measuring, interpreting and acting. You will explore topics such as crop sensing and what your crop is telling you, UAV sensing with drones in practice, smart irrigation during dry periods, variable fertilisation and targeted crop protection. There is room to discuss your own situation, so you not only see the technology but also understand what needs to be organised to make it work in practice. If there is a topic you would like to see included, you can email roos@vdbornecampus.com and we will explore whether it can be incorporated into the programme.
Why you should not miss the Summer Field Day Precision Agriculture
Many organisations see the potential but hesitate because the step towards daily use feels too big. On this day, you assess applicability and reliability before investing, by seeing real examples during the season and asking questions about costs, data, workflows and required support. This gives you more confidence in your decision-making and makes it easier to start in a focused way, adjust where needed or consciously decide to wait.
Who should attend the Summer Field Day Precision Agriculture
The day is relevant for farmers and employees in arable farming, livestock farming and fruit growing who want to make more sustainable choices around fertilisation, irrigation and crop protection. It is also valuable for agri tech and data solution providers, knowledge and research institutes and policymakers or advisors who want to better understand and accelerate adoption in practice. You will recognise yourself if you are looking for concrete answers rather than theoretical explanations.
Faster application requires a Handsfree Agrifood ecosystem that comes together in practice
NXTGEN Hightech Agrifood supports this event by bringing together parties that want to make precision agriculture workable on the farm and in the field. By demonstrating applications in practice and sharing experiences, the step from orientation to application is accelerated while also creating a clearer understanding of what is needed to improve structurally. The event remains the starting point, NXTGEN mainly helps connect the right questions, solutions and next steps.
Cost for the Summer Field Day Precision Agriculture
