Recap day 1 Agritechnica

We start with focus and connection

9 November 2025 | Hanover

Handsfree Agrifood ecosystem presents itself internationally

The first day of Agritechnica started off energetic and focused. At the NL Pavilion in the Potato Hall (Hall 25, Stand 25A13), NXTGEN Hightech Agrifood and its partners showcased where the Netherlands stands today in robotics, data, and electronics. Some developments are still at an early stage, while others are already well advanced and running in practice. The shared goal is to make these applications scalable for a broader market. The aisles were filled with farmers eager to learn what already works and with partners looking to connect. We explored opportunities with ecosystems from Germany and France, setting the tone for a week where content leads and new connections are made.

Where technology stands today

Together with our partners OXBO, Koppert, Aurea Imaging, Vantage Agrometius, Pixelfarming Robotics, and Soildata, we shared examples from pilots and early implementations alongside solutions ready for broader use. Robotics is taking over repetitive tasks and increasing precision where possible, data and sensors sharpen control, and electronics connect systems into a stable chain. At the same time, further development is ongoing in robustness, integration, and affordability. Together we define what is ready for pilot testing and who wants to participate, ensuring that each step remains logical and achievable.

Opportunities with Germany and France on the table

This week we are also engaging with related ecosystems from Germany and France. The goal is to identify where we can strengthen one another and determine where collaboration makes sense. Depending on the outcomes, we will work on potential follow-up actions throughout the week. The approach is open and content-driven, allowing joint decisions to be made faster.

Knowledge beyond the chain increases impact

Broadening perspectives is a key value we actively apply within the Handsfree Agrifood ecosystem. By linking expertise from outside the traditional agrifood chain, such as electronics, data science, and advanced manufacturing—solutions become more scalable and better applicable at the farm level. Every new connection increases the likelihood that technology lands where it truly matters: with the user.

Looking ahead to this week’s stage moments

In addition to the conversations at our stand, NXTGEN will also take the stage this week. Two sessions bring context and connection together, ideal for anyone wanting to see where collaboration and application are heading.

  •  Monday, 10 November, 16:30: International collaboration including Franc
We’ll join a session on international cooperation in agritech. Topics include learning from each other’s ecosystems, opening pilot opportunities, and accelerating knowledge exchange with partners from France and Germany. Expect a clear, practical discussion about what’s already possible today and which steps make sense toward scale.

  • Tuesday, 11 November, 16:30:  Pitches from Dutch Agtech companies
A selection of Dutch Agtech companies will present short pitches showcasing solutions ranging from robotics to data-driven cultivation. Several of the presenters are part of the NXTGEN network. In just a short time, you’ll get a concise overview and direct contact points for follow-up.

Join and continue the conversation. Before or after the sessions, visit us at the NL Pavilion in Hall 25, Stand 25A13. We’re happy to plan a short follow-up to explore how NXTGEN could connect with your company or project.
