Dutch composites sector on full display at JEC World 2025
At JEC World 2025, the Netherlands once again made a strong impression on the international stage. From NXTGEN Hightech, we look back on a vibrant week at the event, where the NL Pavilion became the central hub for technology, collaboration, and future-focused solutions. Over the course of three dynamic days, representatives from industry, science, and policy met on the exhibition floor. Domain lead for Composites, Bouke Veldman, noted: “JEC is the global trade show for composite technology. For the Dutch ecosystem, this is the ideal opportunity to present ourselves collectively.”
The NL Pavilion: a dynamic ecosystem
The pavilion offered a broad and diverse showcase of innovations and applications. Everywhere you looked, Dutch organizations demonstrated how composite technology can be both smarter and more sustainable. With in-depth conversations, engaging demonstrations, and an open atmosphere, the pavilion fostered new collaborations and open knowledge exchange. Veldman continued: “NXTGEN Hightech is an integral part of that story. At the NL Pavilion, our consortium partners demonstrated the innovations of tomorrow. The strong global interest in hightech milestones and the many meaningful conversations we had show the added value of NXTGEN Hightech’s presence. By referring visitors to the participating Dutch companies, we’re also contributing to the current economic strength of the composites ecosystem.”
Strong content, compelling stories
The program offered plenty of opportunities for deeper discussion. During the "Country on Stand" sessions, Dutch experts shared insights on key topics, including:
the impact of regulations on sustainable yacht design
lightweight applications using thermoplastic composites
the role of composites in construction, from façades to bridges
scaling up and applying composites in the automotive sector
The networking reception – organized as part of the French-Dutch Economic Year – also served as a valuable, accessible platform for connecting Dutch and international stakeholders.
Global recognition and new connections
Interest in Dutch expertise and innovation was high. This was evident not only from the large number of visitors to the pavilion, but also from the success of Curve Works, which received a prestigious JEC Innovation Award. These are clear signs of the strength and global relevance of the Dutch composites sector.
